Posted by: ArmyWifeToddlerMom at May 22, 2005 11:11 AMWell, I guess I can do one last word of the week before I leave.
A couple of months ago I was zaftig, but now I'm nearly fit, and in about 13 weeks, I'll be marine fit. and very likely still single ;) . . .
Posted by: Aris_Ravencroft at May 22, 2005 12:21 PMOH I'm so using this tonight!
Posted by: Boudicca at May 22, 2005 07:27 PMOk, I used it. I actually used it in my first Evil Lies post too. =)
Posted by: littlejoe at May 23, 2005 12:18 AMA better definition, from Leo Rosten's "The Joys of Yiddish" (since "zaftig" is, after all, as Yiddish a word as there ever was:
"Zaftig describes in one word what it takes two hands, outlining an hourglass figure, to do".
BTW, the word's root is from the German for "juicy".
