Blogmeet Burritos

This is the recipe for the burritos that I brought to the blogmeet. This has never been written down before, just passed verbally, so excuse my poor directions

Ingredients:

Tortilla (flour) 10
1lb lean hamburger meat
Mozzerella Cheese 2 1/2 cups
3/4 can of tomato sauce
salt, pepper, basil, Adobo
Vegetable or Olive Oil

Scramble the hamburger meat while cooking it until done. Meat should be in smaller pieces, like when making spaghetti.

Add the tomato sauce, salt, pepper, basil and Adobo. There are really no specific amounts, it's all to taste. However, the key ingredient is the Adobo.

Once the meat is to your desired taste, pour 1-3 heaping spoonfulls onto the tortilla, about 1/4 away in from the edge. Add your desired amount of mozzerella cheese (no more than 3 tablespoons, and even that is pretty cheesy!)

Fold the tortilla over to cover the meat and cheese, fold in the sides, and finish rolling to the end (like you would wrap a burrito). Place the burrito on aluminum foil or plate where it can't unwrap.

Option 1 - Fry

Fill a pan with oil about 3/4 of an inch. Heat it on medium to medium-high. Once hot enough, place the burrito in the oil. After a couple of minutes, the side in the oil will be a light golden brown and you can flip to fry the other side. You may fry as many burritos at one time as you can fit in the pan.

After the burrito is fried, place it on paper towels to soak up any extra oil.

Option 2 - Bake

You may also bake the burritos in the oven if you'd like to avoid the oil. Be sure to either spray a cake pan and place them in there or place the burritos on a sheet of aluminum foil, so that the sauce of the burrito doesn't drip in your oven. The burritos should be baked at 400F for about 10 minutes on each side (check while baking for them to turn a light golden brown)

These are great served with white rice.

Normally I'm not a big fan of Mexican food, but I couldn't keep myself away from those burritos :-)
